Owner & Head Chef
Adam Altnether is a St. Louis native who graduated The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in August of 2007. Upon graduation Altnether landed a job at Niche restaurant in Benton Park working under chef/owner Gerard Craft. After working at Niche for three years and holding various titles including sous chef, and chef de cuisine, Altnether took over the executive chef position at Brasserie by Niche in St. Louis' Central West End. After six months he took on the project of moving Taste to its new and current location. As the chef of Taste, Altnether is committed to using as many sustainable local products as possible while creating his European inspired small plates/tapas style menu.
Head Barkeep & Beverage Director
Ted Kilgore spends his time in the spirituous pursuit of the perfect cocktail experience for each and every one of Taste’s guests. His drinks have appeared in various publications such as Mr. Boston’s, Food & Wine, G.Q., The Wall Street Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, Imbibe, Bon Appetit, and many more. Ted is B.A.R. Ready Certified, a founding member of the local United States Bartenders’ Guild, and has been known to happily down shots of Angostura Bitters.
Bartender & Manager
Heather Dodderer is a cocktail lover who possesses great management skills as well as great shaking abilities. She enjoys participating in local and national cocktail competitions that both challenge her skills and allow her to connect with other cocktail aficionados. When not behind the stick, Heather enjoys dance, volunteering in her community, and exploring the outdoors with her wrinkly dog Ming and her cocktail loving boyfriend Nate. She is BarSmarts certified, an officer of the United States Bartenders’ Guild, and loves a little bubbly.
Travis Garner, resident Boy Wonder, is on the fast track of the bar world. Having started bartending only two months past his 21st birthday, he spends his time delighting customers with his boyish charm and amazing concoctions. Travis is BarSmarts certified, a member of the United States Bartenders’ Guild, and enjoys rye whiskey.
